"And they called it Puppy Love....." Donny Osmond and Paul Anka have insprired our title for today!

What's up my 6 1/2 gangsta's????Hope you all survived the snow here in Pittsburgh and any other part of the country that might be reading this. Well, here I sit, 11:31 in the evening holding a dog that will not allow me to go to bed! Everytime I try to go upstairs she cries. This would be my Gracie the smaller of my two Bichon's. Don't get me wrong, Lacie, my other Bichon has a hand in this as well. She has decided to jump in and out of bed looking for me even though she know's exactly where I am. I had to go upstairs and carry her fat little bum downstairs to be with Gracie and I who was wailing like a banshee. All the while my sainted Danny I'm sure is planning ways to do us all in!!!So here I sit, Gracie smack dab next to me as I type with her head laying on my chest as I type. Let me tell you, it's not easy to type like this. Lace has taken to the other sofa and is just glad to be with me in the same room. Who knew that 5 years ago I would have fallen so deeply in love with these two little creatures. I always wanted a dog but was terribly allergic to their dander. One day many years ago I was walking down the main street of Niagara on The Lake, Ontario and there sat on a bench a man with this BEAUTIFUL white dog with curly soft hair. Well, I had to go have a touch. Such a sweet creature that felt like a cotton ball! I was in love. Now my dear departed daddy had no love for dogs. He always told Lois and I that on the way home from the cemetary we were allowed to stop and pick up the dog that he knew we would buy. He wasn't far off, but we did give it 6 months. I know Lois had been searching for a Bichon as that is what we decided we would get. Lo and behold she found a litter in Tarentum Pa that had one little female left. She was the runt of the litter and weighed about 3 1/2 lbs. Well, was she a handful. No one told me I was having a baby. Good thing I wasn't working at the time because we slept for two hours, we played for two hours and then we watched some TV before we went back to sleep to repeat the entire process. This went on for about 4 weeks until I got her to sleep through the night! Now our little family was not quite complete as one day Mom and I came home with another lovely chubby 6 month old female who's name was Lacie, let me tell you it was not love at first sight for Lacie and Gracie. It took awhile, but they did become partners in crime for alot of things. Gracie can still get bitchy with Lacie who is as even tempered as my Danny. Gracie I think is the reincarnation of my dear Daddy, Jim, kinda grumpy, a bit dry and often very funny. I love these two little beings with all my heart. They are the babies I never and will never had, nor did I know I every wanted. If I lay on the couch I always say I have a "Bichon Blanket". One on my legs the other on my chest. They kiss me good morning every night (as well as each other) and wake me up with puppy kisses and the need for belly rubs. Danny carries them around like his babies. Of course when they are bad they are "my dogs"! We talk alot. I ask about their day and how they feel and they listen to all my stories, happy, sad and funny. We sing, we dance (one two cha cha cha, three four across the floor). People think I'm nuts I'm just in love. When my Mom passed away Lacie grieved just as much as I did. She would look for Lois and if I would say Mummy's name her ears would perk up. One day I found her laying on Mummy's bed on top of all things, one of Mummy's bra's that smelled still of her perfume, Aromatic Elixers by Clinque. I have to say that broke my heart. My dear sweet dog sitter Ruthanne took my girls during the two days while we were burying Mom. All the people in and out was just too much for them. After the funeral Danny and did not wait to pick up our babies and the four of us crawled into bed. During all this time they have been a great source of comfort and amusement. They like cooking show's on TV and love to watch BBC America because it sounds like Danny. We always leave one of those two channels on for them when we go out. They have been known to enjoy re-runs of "The Nanny" as well and on Friday nights when I say to them "it's time to watch our boy's, meaning "Supernaturl" they come a runnin. Here's a fun fact for you regarding dog's, did you know weird dog laws include allowing police offers in Palding, Ohio, to bite a dog to quiet it. In Ventura County, California, cats and dogs are not allowed to have sex without a permit.HMMM I wonder where you get the permit and if what type of proof do they give you showing your dog is allowed to do the dance with no pants in public (thank you Sheldon from The Big Bang for that quote!). I haven't told my girls about sex yet!!! So my random thought for the day is that I'm glad I'm not gonna be one of those little old ladies that has 42 cats and they find me dead and the cat's have eaten me! I will grow old gracefully with my Danny and my loves at my side. Not dissing the pussy's, you just hear alot of horror stories and urban ledgen's about stuff like that, though we may have to watch Lacie cause she will eat ANYTHING! So here I sit, it's now 12:14 am, the dogs have switched places and now Lacie is next to me tight as a bad sweater. My two "Bitchin Frizzy's" as we call them will be my companion's for the night. Sorry Danny, but you need the sleep worse than Gracie's snoring and Lacie's kicking. I will bid you all a fond Adiue (sp). I'm gonna cuddle up with my Lacie and thank God that Lois left me these two wonderful little gifts. Until the next time, Arf and Sandy from "Annie" would have said (and yes I mean said!)...xoxoxxo Puppy lovin Pammy!
